Request Chaffee County Booking Photos
The Chaffee County Sheriff's Records Division is the local route for sheriff records and older Salida Police reports. Records staff maintain law-enforcement records, process case files, and handle local criminal-history records. The sheriff police reports page says a signed request is required and that public reports are usually available approximately three to five days after the occurrence. If the report was created by Salida Police from January 1, 2022 onward, use the Salida Police Records route. If the case led to formal charges, use the court route for charging documents and dispositions. A booking photo request and a court document request are different products.

Are Chaffee County Jail Mugshots Public
Colorado does not require Chaffee County to publish an online mugshot roster in the official sources located. The court records after a jail arrest route is still important when a mugshot search is really about whether the case was dismissed, amended, sealed, or resolved. Those facts can affect what should remain public and what documentation the requester may need to give an agency or record holder.
CDOC Photos Are Not County Mugshots
Buena Vista Correctional Complex is physically in Chaffee County, but it is a Colorado Department of Corrections state prison complex. CDOC's Offender Search has a "Show Photos on the Result Page" option and searches by DOC number, name, race or ethnicity, and gender. Those photos, when displayed, are state-prison search photos. They are not Chaffee County jail booking photos and do not prove that the person was booked in the Chaffee County Detention Center.

Federal and ICE Mugshot Limits
